How to Connect Your Site to a CDN in Your Apex Managed Panel

2 min read

Our Global CDN helps your website load quickly for visitors no matter where in the world they're located. Available on Optimum-tier plans, the CDN is easy to turn on directly from Your Apex Managed Panel.

What the Global CDN Does #

A Content Delivery Network (CDN) stores cached copies of your site's static assets — images, CSS, JavaScript — on servers distributed around the world (119 points of presence). When someone visits your site, the CDN serves those static files from the location nearest to them. The result is faster load times, reduced server strain, and better performance during traffic spikes.

Checking Plan Eligibility #

The Global CDN is included with Optimum-tier plans (Starter Optimum and WooCommerce Optimum). If you're on a different plan and want CDN access, you'll need to upgrade first.

How to Enable the CDN #

  1. Log in to my.apexmanagedhosting.com and open Your Apex Managed Panel.
  2. Select the instance you'd like to connect to the CDN.
  3. Go to the Performance tab.
  4. Locate the Global CDN option and toggle it to On.
  5. The panel will automatically configure your site to route static assets through the CDN network.
  6. Allow up to 15–30 minutes for the CDN configuration to fully propagate.

How to Verify the CDN Is Serving Your Assets #

  1. Visit your website in a browser.
  2. Right-click on the page and choose Inspect (or press F12).
  3. Go to the Network tab and reload the page.
  4. Click on an image or CSS file in the list of loaded resources.
  5. Check the response headers for a CDN-related header.
  6. Alternatively, return to the Performance tab in Your Apex Managed Panel to confirm the CDN status.

Tips for Best Results #

  • Combine the CDN with Redis cache for the best overall performance.
  • If you update images or files and don't see changes, purge the CDN cache from the Performance tab.
  • The CDN primarily accelerates static assets — pair it with good image optimization for maximum benefit.
