How to Upgrade or Downgrade Your Plan

2 min read

As your website grows — or if your needs change — you can adjust your Apex Managed Hosting plan at any time directly from your customer portal.

How to Upgrade Your Plan #

  1. Log into my.apexmanagedhosting.com.
  2. Go to Billing > Subscriptions.
  3. Click Manage Plan next to your current hosting plan.
  4. Select Upgrade and choose the new plan tier.
  5. Review the prorated charge shown and confirm the upgrade.

Your account is upgraded immediately, giving you instant access to additional resources.

How Prorated Billing Works #

When you upgrade mid-cycle, our system calculates a prorated charge — credit for the unused portion of your current plan is applied toward the cost difference of the new plan. You only pay the difference for the remaining days in your billing cycle, not a full new charge.

How to Downgrade Your Plan #

  1. Go to Billing > Subscriptions in your portal.
  2. Click Manage Plan.
  3. Select Downgrade and choose the lower plan tier.
  4. Confirm the change.

Unlike upgrades, downgrades typically take effect at the start of your next billing cycle rather than immediately.

What Happens If You Downgrade to a Plan With Fewer Site Slots #

If your current plan hosts more websites than your new plan allows, you'll need to choose which sites to keep before the downgrade takes effect. Sites that aren't selected will be deactivated (not immediately deleted), so back up any site you're removing beforehand.

When to Contact Support Instead #

For complex situations — like migrating sites between plans, combining multiple accounts, or timing a plan change around a big launch — contact our support team first so we can help you plan the transition smoothly.
