How to Request a Free Site Migration

Moving your website to Apex Managed Hosting doesn't have to be stressful. Most of our hosting plans include free site migrations, and our team handles the heavy lifting so your site experiences little to no downtime.

Before You Start #

Gather the following information so we can complete your migration as quickly as possible:

• The domain name of the site you're moving.
• Your current hosting provider's name.
• Login credentials for your current host's control panel (such as cPanel, Plesk, or another dashboard).
• WordPress admin login details, if available.
• Any special notes about your site (custom configurations, staging environments, third-party integrations, etc.).

You don't need to cancel your existing hosting until the migration is confirmed complete on our end.

How to Submit a Migration Request #

1. Log in to my.apexmanagedhosting.com.
2. From your dashboard, open Your Apex Managed Panel.
3. Create a new instance (or select an existing empty instance) that will serve as the destination for your migrated site.
4. Go to the Migrations section within the panel and click Request a Migration.
5. Fill out the migration form with your domain name, current host details, and login credentials.
6. Add any additional notes about your site in the comments field.
7. Click Submit Request.

Alternatively, you can email your migration details directly to [email protected] or start a live chat, and one of our specialists will set up the request on your behalf.

What Happens Next #

1. Our migration team reviews your request, usually within a few hours.
2. We copy your website files, database, and media library over to your new Apex instance.
3. We test the migrated site on a temporary preview URL to confirm everything works correctly.
4. Once you approve the preview, we help you point your domain to your new Apex hosting.
5. We monitor the site closely for the first 24–48 hours after the switch.

Expected Timeline #

Most standard WordPress and WooCommerce migrations are completed within 1–3 business days.

Tips for a Smooth Migration #

• Avoid making major changes to your old site while the migration is in progress.
• Let us know if your current site has any password-protected areas or firewall rules that might block our migration tools.
• Double-check your domain's DNS settings are ready to update once the migration is approved.
