Keeping your payment method current ensures your hosting never experiences an interruption. Whether your card is expiring, you switched banks, or you'd prefer to pay with PayPal, updating your payment details only takes a couple of minutes.
Why This Matters #
Apex Managed Hosting plans renew automatically to keep your website online. If the payment method on file is outdated or declined, your renewal can fail — which can lead to service suspension. Updating your card proactively avoids this entirely.
Step 1: Log Into Your Portal #
- Visit my.apexmanagedhosting.com and sign in.
- Click Billing in the main navigation menu.
- Select Payment Methods.
Step 2: Remove the Old Payment Method #
- Find the card or PayPal account currently listed as default.
- Click the three-dot menu or Edit option next to it.
- Select Remove or Delete Payment Method.
Note: if this is your only payment method, add your new one first before removing the old one so there's no gap in coverage.
Step 3: Add a New Payment Method #
- Click Add Payment Method.
- Choose either Credit/Debit Card or PayPal.
- For cards, enter the card number, expiration date, CVV, and billing zip code.
- For PayPal, you'll be redirected to log into PayPal and authorize Apex Managed Hosting to charge it.
- Click Save.
Step 4: Confirm It's Set as Default #
After adding your new method, make sure it's marked as your default payment method. If you have more than one payment method saved, look for a "Set as Default" option.
What Happens If You Miss Updating Before Renewal #
If your card expires at renewal time, Apex will automatically retry the charge and notify you by email. Your site will typically remain online during this retry window, but if payment still isn't resolved, hosting may eventually be suspended.
