We hope you'll stick around, but we understand that business needs change. If you need to cancel your Apex Managed Hosting plan, here's exactly how it works and what to expect.
Before You Cancel: Back Up Your Site #
Before submitting any cancellation request, download a full backup of your website. Once hosting is cancelled and your retention period ends, your files and database cannot be recovered. Generate a backup from the Backups section of Your Apex Managed Panel, then download it to your computer or cloud storage.
How to Submit a Cancellation Request #
- Log into my.apexmanagedhosting.com.
- Go to Billing > Subscriptions.
- Select the plan you'd like to cancel.
- Click Cancel Plan and follow the prompts to confirm.
Alternatively, email our support team at [email protected] with your account email and domain name, and we'll process the cancellation for you.
Is Pausing an Option? #
Apex Managed Hosting doesn't currently offer a pause feature. If you expect to need your site again soon, it's usually more cost-effective to keep your plan active (potentially downgrading to a smaller plan) rather than cancelling and rebuilding later.
What Happens to Your Data After Cancellation #
Once cancelled, your website is taken offline and enters a 30-day data retention period. During this window your files remain archived but the site won't be publicly accessible. After 30 days, all site data is permanently deleted.
Keeping Your Domain After Cancelling Hosting #
Cancelling your hosting plan does not cancel any domain registered through Apex. Domains are billed and managed separately and will continue to renew on their own schedule unless you separately cancel them.
